2026 Annual Scholarship Personal Statement Prompt
As part of the Annual Scholarship Application, all applicants must submit a personal statement. The essay provides an opportunity for you to share your unique experiences, aspirations, and the impact scholarship support would have on your educational journey.
Please respond to the following prompt in 500–1,000 words:
Please share your story and how it has shaped your educational journey and goals. You may choose to discuss your academic interests, personal experiences, challenges you have faced, or the people and opportunities that have influenced you. We encourage you to reflect on how your experiences have prepared you for success in college and how receiving a scholarship would support your educational and personal goals
Submission Guidelines

Essays must be between 500 and 1,000 words.

Responses must be written in essay format (no bullet points).

Be thoughtful, reflective, and authentic in your response.
- DO NOT include you name in your responses.
There is no single “right” topic. Share what you feel is most important for the committee to understand about you. You are not required to disclose sensitive or personal information. Students are strongly encouraged to utilize the Writing Center for feedback and revision prior to submission.
Preparing to apply
Some awards require the completion and/or current enrollment of certain courses. If determined eligible for one or more of these awards students will be asked to upload a copy of their unofficial transcript.
It is recommended that students download their unofficial transcripts prior to starting their application.

Post-Selection Requirements
Students selected to receive a scholarship award will be expected to complete the following requirements prior to award disbursement:
Thank-You Letter
Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a formal thank-you letter to their scholarship donor(s). This letter must be reviewed and approved by the Foundation prior to distribution.
The thank-you letter provides an important opportunity to express appreciation and to share how the scholarship will support your academic and personal goals. Donor generosity makes these awards possible, and thoughtful stewardship is an essential part of the scholarship process.
